I stayed at the Hotel Am Tiergarten a few years back, the track runs right alongside the carpark which was cool. Looking on Booking.com it has had a major refurbishment since I stayed there and consequently is a bit more expensive than when I stayed but I thought it was alright then, looks even nicer now with a range of room sizes.

Basic room, comfortable, shower/toilet ensuite, tasty breakfast. First day there we were woken up at 9am by the Porsche club having a day at the Ring!

It really does depend on what your budget is though, there are plenty of places to stay nearby or if you fancy a bit more of a drive the roads in the immediate area are pretty damn good too. Plus Luxembourg is an hour and a bit away so we went there for lunch on a particularly sunny day.

Edit to add link!

Not a hotel, but I found a random bit of forest not too far away and happily camped there for free.

Looked like you could get away with it in some of the big carparks too.

Does of course require camping stuff Smile.

thanks for reply peeps .. we found something suitable on bookin . com...
Landhuis Eifel
Ferienstrasse 910, 54636 Biersdorf, Germany –

was recommended by the guy bookin up :he been before : not to stay too close to the ring as its full of wanna be Valentino Rossi ,Joey Dunlop, Mike Hailwood, Kenny Roberts, Mick Doohan, racers...

probably gonna need eyes in the back of me head once we actually get on the track.. Neutral

Run by a Sabine Schmitz's parents, even if you don't stay here you have to go here for dinner. The Pistenklaus restaurant is full of motorsport memorabilia and they do a 'steak on a stone'; a raw slabs of steak and a searing hot stone - you slice and cook the meat to you r liking there at your seat. Add in some potatoes, sauces and beer and that's a great meal right there. Don't expect to wear the clothes you are in again though as they will reek of fat and smoke.

I was lucky enough to stay here as I was there on a corporate ticket. Not cheap, I know.

You definitely will mate. I've only ridden it the once and it was relatively quiet but it's the cars you have to look out for. I was going to have a lap in April last year but when I rocked up it looked like chaos with car drivers so decided against, particularly after seeing a Brit driver had dumped his sump all over the car park Shocked

Saying that I'd love to have another go sometime but maybe pick my timings. Evenings seem to be a little better. Anyway, just uploaded this short video of me riding in there from last year. It was rammed and also who would take a poor dog to somewhere like that? Fucknuts.

the plan is to go one day through the week .. hopefully a little quieter if August could be called that.
4 laps for 106 euro iirc..

I`ll be huggin the right hand lane where possible .. not that I`ll be makin any sort of pace on a ZZR14 & top box.... Laughing

I rode it in early September which was ideal. You'll love it! If you get the chance, ride some of the surrounding roads in the area, some of them are stunning and equally as good in parts.

Didn't actually find that area great for riding. Road surfaces were pretty rough, and not particularly twisty. Best bit was the waterfall near La Gleize, and there's the December '44 museum there (which we got there too late for Rolling Eyes ). But if you're well into that history, you might find it interesting anyway. I think you might get better if you head further east to the German border, but don't know for sure.

Last year Mrs.Fizzer and I rode through Bastogne as part of our route to the B500 and visited the 101st Airborne museum. If you have ever seen the series 'Band of Brothers' then you will have an understanding of what they went through.

Should you get to visit the museum, pay a visit to the cellar and await the visual and audio assault on your senses. It will play on your mind for some time after your visit Shocked
