Has anyone found it extremely cumbersome to use the indicators with these fitted on? I have the neoprene ones:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tucano-Urbano-Scooter-Motorcycle-Muffs-x/dp/B00426MZB0

I'm wearing my winter gloves with them so I know that's making it awkward so I will try to use my summer gloves later on and see how it goes. But just generally it seems quite awkward, and I'm not going to keep my thumb in the thumb area the whole time as I can't grip the grip properly in that way..

Have any of you experienced this? If so, how have you dealt with it?

Btw, the muffs themselves are awesome at keeping my hands from wind and cold!

It was this perceived issue that made me decide to buy the type that wrap around the whole switchgear etc.

Same ones I have.

Yes its awkward.

Its the price you pay for warm hands. I do however keep my thumb resting on the indicator / horn through the entire journey unless its a long straight motorway bit.

I've got used to it so doesn't bother me much now.

edit: Besides which, its nearly time to take them off again! Smile Wink

Yes, I've gone off that sort and am now using cover-the-controls muffs instead on 2/3rds of the fleet.

I got so hacked off that I just cut a slit in the left mitt thumb. It doesn't let an appreciable amount of weather through.

Might have to do so, let's see how summer gloves perform

Get them fitted, stop being macho. How are you going to wank off all those sailors if you have wind chapped hands?

I found it a little awkward at first but I got used to them fairly quickly. I find them quite spacious even with my (admittedly very well worn) winter gloves. I do miss the occasional signal though but not often. I have the neoprene ones on my cg125.

I just fitted a set of the larger ones that cover the whole assembly to my er6f. They actually feel less spacious to me but they make operating the switchgear much easier. They do however hit the screen and tank at full lock. Not enough to really cause much concern (how often do you use full lock anyway? The er has a wide range lock to lock). They do make tight, slow turning a bit more awkward as they are fairly rigid but again not a huge issue.

I've just realised that I've got a slit in my muff.

He doesn't need them with the heat off the fetid stench of horse shit that spews from his mouth. That and the layer of filth on his noggin (seriously, how can the inside of your helmet be dirtier than the outside) insulates him from the cold.

I found I had to move my thumb to the side of the indicator and shove it sideways instead of just twitching it slightly but got used to it quite happily

Cheers for the replies.

I had a ride with my summer gloves and was not impressed, still got quite chilly. I guess the next step is the heated grips, I'd prefer keeping my hands warm in the muff Mr. Green

The 15 quid tech/bikeIt brand are similar design, no problem with indicator. Also wearing very ventilated summer gloves, and heated grips. Fine on a dry -6c day but any wet from wiping visor will freeze my left hand.

Need goretex leather gloves.
