There was no way the party of fiscal responsibility was going to go into an election on a sweeping tax cut mandate having spent the last eight years fighting any legislation that was going to cost money...

Straight from the horse's mouth... Have a fun read Laughing

It's point number 3 Eh?

Well done, it is point number three. I didn't say it wasn't mentioned on the campaign (see highlighted previous post to refresh goldfish memory Brick Wall ) but, as you so subtly pointed out, I was here in the US during the 18 month campaign nuttiness and the main point they were banging on about was reform - even the attached document from Trump is called 'Trump tax reform' not 'Trump corp cuts and tax cuts' - so much so that we'd be able to complete our tax returns on a piece of paper the size of a postcard but maybe I'm wrong and you have a far better understanding of what goes on here from your great viewpoint 3000+ miles away! Brick Wall FFS Please tell me you aren't that thick??? I've highlighted, again, the parts of the sentence that you need to take note of. To put it as simply as I can in another way, a good portion of Americans think that Trump is so bad he makes the Bush's look bad. That in no way means or implies that the Bush's were ever great presidents.

Well, there's another thing. With Brexit, the U.K. is going to be looking for some nice big trade deals elsewhere. The U.S. is a prime candidate, but people are worried about what else they're going to have to put up with if engaging in deals with the U.S. with Trump at it's head, so I guess that's another reason we here in the U.K. are so concerned. Such a controversial president really couldn't have come along at a worse time for us.

Nope, he pledged to reform the loophole heavy tax system but, surprise, surprise, many of the party's big donors and business-people senators/representatives like their 'get out of tax free' loopholes and kicked up a stink. So, if this bill goes through they still get to apply their loopholes but to a reduced tax rate...

Been off sick so catching up on the posts, surprised not to see any thoughts about our friend in the US, Tangoman reposting Britain First's tweets. What do you think?
Outrage, as per 99% of the media tells us to be, or some sympathy in freedom of speech etc etc.

The God Emperor retweeted Ann Coulter (anorexic Septic Katie Hopkins), who retweeted Britain First who... hmmm.

Everybody involved in that chain is islamophobic, except for the muslims who filmed and posted the acts carried out by muslims.

They are of course victims of right wing extremists who maliciously drew attention to them doing precisely what the islamic quran literally commands them to do.

That's what's problematic here: everybody who draws attention to what actual muslims really do is islamophobic.

Climate change.

Which, unlike the neo-Nazi lies about the peaceful, progressive islamic world, is a totally real thing, and 100% Trump's fault.

I dunno... the bogey man of the day is still quite peaceful when compared to the current crown holders of violence and general destruction.

Trump travel "ban"[*] finally makes it through the Supreme Court. Fancy that, a person elected explictly to enact the will of his people to secure their borders gets to secure their borders. Every day, in every way, Murca gets greater and greater. Thumbs Up

Al Beeb are disgusted that the latest trailer park trash to accuse Trump of grabbing her pussy is being treated with a yawn and a shrug. But maybe somone will give it credence later. Maybe! It could happen!

Can someone get them some vinegar to go with all that salt? Drooling

Wow. Do you think there's any chance - any at all - that every person featured there hasn't said at some point "Only ignorants vote forTrump, he's ignorant, don't be ignorant." Clapping

The God Emperor gave a best strong good speech at Davos where he called the press out for being partisan shithole fake news liars.

To prove him wrong, they booed him. One lot even ramped up the volume on the booing to show how impartial they were.

The man's a bona fide stable genius in his dealings with the progressive press.

He's not though is he. Americas economy is pretty strong and he won't roll over and take it like China want's him to do.

I can't say I particularly like the sunbed surfer but I wouldn't mind a PM over here that at least makes a show of putting Britain before everyone else.

From a certain point of view it is.

But from others like payrolls not so much.

Exactly like everywhere else.

Yes he makes a show but it's already blown up in his face once already.

Boeing vs Bombardier for instance. Boeing wasn't even in the market segment for Bombardiers CSeries but they lobbied for tariffs.

So Airbus ate Bombardier. Bombardier was always a small almost niche player, but now they've got Airbus behind them and Boeing has no product to compete.

I get spousal private dental (inc some cosmetic procedures) and BUPA healthcare as part of my wifes salary package.
I'm surprised the big companies in th US don't offer similar, I mean, with a 6 figure joint income, you're probably not
working in a Mcdonalds, do your employers not offer a contributory plan at all?

Travel to Mexico and have some bling fitted. Bonus, it'll enrage the God Emperor.

Oh, State of the Union, tl;dr version - very strong good best. Trump smash puny foreigners.

How much is health insurance, 7 figures?

Are you telling us that if you needed a tooth out, you'd do it yourself, or are you lying about being able to afford insurance because you don't like Trump?

To be fair to Trump it was an issue prior to his presidency, but he and his party are more than happy to not sort it out.
Personal health insurance is a strange beast here, many insurance companies just don't offer individual policies so most people are insured through their company, or that of their spouse, Obamacare picks up nearly all single policies. A basic package for me costs a fortune ( I am on the wife's county workplace insurance, there's no way I could afford my own coverage and my employer is a small business so not required to offer it). Unfortunately a basic coverage doesn't include dental or optical coverage - it will cover accidents to those parts but not preventative maintenance.
Company insurance is also a strange beast, basically the company looks at who had what ailments last year and tailors it's policy's to meet those needs, my wife's Education Board offers three policies - extortionate, fucking extortionate and WTF!!!

Healthcare here is proper fucked up but nothing will reduce costs because all those involved in it love their high salaries and excessive golf time.

The economy is doing well, if you happen to play the stock market you're quids in but the average Joe on the street struggles with the cost of living. That's not to say that our household is struggling but we fall in the gap between the benefit of high income and that of low earners who can take advantage of discounted Obamacare rates.
A beer (smaller than a UK pint) and a standard size glass of wine emptied my wallet to the the tune of 17 bucks last week and it's not as though we drink with the hoi polloi in 'pubs' by the Thames!

I'm quite sujrprised as to what you say about living costs. When I worked in Norfolk for Norshipco, food and drink was a lot cheaper than the UK. I don't know about the services as I lived in a company rented apartment but everything else seemed cheaper than the UK.

Obviously health and so on I have no idea about.
