Or will the world have to endure more of the same, unfathomable, fukwittery from the deranged, orange tit?

It's real frying pan/fire stuff. Donald lumbering about like a borderline sociopathic bull in the US china-shop or Pence, who actually understands how to work within the systems and would likely accomplish many of the things that Trump is singularly failing to do?

The end of the Big D will not be the end of the trend, only of the incompetency with which it is currently being pursued. The Russian investigation is likely to be the coup-de-grace if nothing else has changed by the time it is done.

They love to tell us all how things should be and how everyone else is wrong and should be changed.

I like to point out to them that in a society with free speech, you have to put up with the morons like racists and allow them to be morons, otherwise if you want to stop them, that is a form of control and the first step towards a fascist state.

They never agree and tell me we need to stop fascism.

The paradox continues.

There is very vocal minority at the extreme ends of the spectrum that say similar things, it's no more indicative of the general ideas of the left than the neo nazis are indicative of the ideas of the right.

Is there a difference between allowing unpleasant speech and accepting it? They are free to hold those views but no one else is obligated to listen or associate with them.

Having said that, this the "get the daily stormer off the internet" thing is getting a bit lynch mobb-y, at least the dirty liberals at Tor have made sure they can't be entirely censored.

In fact, Trump seems to have travelled 11 days back into the past and sacked him then.

The SJWs will howl briefly in animalistic triumph before redoubling their attacks.

Brieitbart is disavowing Trump and stamping on their MAGA hats.

Bad move. Weak, and dull. Trump folded. Poor bloody show. Thumbs Down

Bannon claims it was his idea, going out to fight for Trump unfettered by government.

Liberal? Liberal is tolerating the right to self identify as XX, and for observers to call an XY an XY.

The far/alt-left and the far/alt-right are both dictatorial collectivists. The only difference between fascism and communism is that it's national socialism versus global socialism. Be us, join us, obey us, surrender everything to the state, or else.

Liberalism doesn't get a look in anywhere.

Pirate Party?

Liberalism has suffered the same fate as socialism/capitalism/democracy/freedom of speech. They have become nothing more than shibboleths to identify "self" and "other", any actual meaning has been long since stripped away Sad

Sort of, of sorts. The alt left label has been dropped onto the rabid leftist type to discern a difference from the supposed 'real left' by the press and even Trump now. The trouble is the so-called real left is actually the more radical end of the socialist progressive slide that we have been ripping in another thread. You are bang on that leftists are not liberal, but a lot of people that have taken the label of alt left are currently autistically screeching because they would fit the liberal graphic in this post and are more akin to the left-leaning liberals, or old center left.

I have got news for you. There is no tolerance for racism and bigotry.

You don't need to be left, centre or right to agree on that.

Seriously people get a grip.

Unless you are Theresa May. Then you prepare for the state visit of the supreme leader:

And who gets to decide the definition of "racism and bigotry"? People who post Trump = Hitler memes?

It depends what kind of reaction it creates for instance Madalne mcan vs that other child who went missing. The reactions were very different.

I'm just fine with tolerating peoples' right to hold and express racist and bigoted thoughts. That's what liberalism is.

I even extend that tolerance to the white-hating (including self-hating), jew-hating, police-hating, men-hating and Christian-hating zealots of #BLM, antifa and their allies whose idea of debate begins and ends with screaming "NAZI!" at absolutely everyone and everything who disagrees with them in the slightest way, even inventing imaginary Nazis instead of targeting the real ones that actually exist.

I have not idea what is BLM and don't want to know. Keep that to yourself.

My point was clear - racism is against the law in the UK and should not be tolerated. Tolerating racists is NOT liberalism.

For some reason been nazi is legal in the US of A and in the UK.

Not in Germany. Anyhow here is what I think about it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZhaiA237e8

The same is valid for all racists.

Here is the same nicely illustrated:

An interesting aspect of the current hounding of the daily stormer is the tension between the ability of a private company to chose to associate (or not) with clients and the fact that some (e.g. google) have become so big that refusal to deal with them is de-facto censorship. Sovereign corporate enclaves ahoy!

Val, the paradox of tolerance isn't a controversial idea, the question is, where do you draw the line? Very few people don't think a society has a right to self preservation, but is racism an active threat to society of such a magnitude that we need to exercise the vast apparatus of state violence against any who profess it?

It probably feels good to be on the right end of "hate speech" legislation, but history has repeatedly taught us that such laws can be pointed in any direction

I believe that it's a matter of fact that Caucasions are racially inferior to East Asians in intelligence.

Is that racism? Is it criminal behaviour to state it?

Wait, you do realise that Antifa and Black Bloc are actually communists (global socialists), right? Black Bloc flags sporting with red (openly identifying as communist) and anarchist symbols are just hilarious - pick one.

The current clashes in the USA and UK are not goodies vs baddies. It's national socialist baddies vs global socialist baddies. I'd gas the lot of them in the name of capitalism and liberalism.

Thinking Is East Asian a race? Genetically that sounds like a very big tent. I would not be at all surprised if the mode of education in that corner of the world was better suited to intellectual pursuits, I'd need to see some compelling evidence that this had a significant genetic component (well "race" genetic component).

Why not both? Abolish the state and yet still have common ownership! Everyone wins!

To be an Anarchist you need to have an unwarranted optimism about human nature.

Anarcho-communism is appealing to revolting Yoof because it's by far and away the most impractical fantasy version of either ideology.

Non-coerced, voluntary sharing of the means of production, advocated by violent destructive thugs inevitably living off of forcibly stolen tax money. Peaceful, plentiful Utopia is always just one more Molotov away. Bless them.

It was and the Swastika was a symbol of peace for thousands of years before the Nazis had designs on it. Adolf had some great ideas, as an example the VW Beetle as an affordable vehicle for the masses, he even had a hand in designing it, bit ironic that it became the vehicle of choice for hippies and surfer dudes and, I believe, the longest production vehicle to date, but no matter what name you put to his party, violent Aryan nationalism has a fairly limited appeal to the majority of lefties.

As I understand it, the commies purged die Juden nearly as enthusiastically as the Nazis. Although they mass murdered so many people that it was harder to tell.

Veneuzelan jews recently goddit too.

Other than that though, sure, communism is a veritable rainbow of red.

Of course, it also has to purge all reactionaries without discrimination as well.

It doesn't really matter which end of the political spectrum a populace find itself at, history has pointed towards all forms of authoritarianism resulting in a sticky ending.

Very true. The Authoritarianism/Libertarian axis is entirely orthogonal to the Left/Right axis. Trump's Milquetoast "both sides" shtick was still a moronic misreading of the public mood though.

On the gripping hand, we have yet to find any form of governance which lasts more than a few hundred years without erupting in wars or eating it's own tail via minor cleansings of various hues.

Organic minds are such fragile things. You think in such two-dimensional terms.

Rather than the traditional four-cornered fantasy chart, I'd propose this as a more accurate simulation of meatbrain:
