Hi,

I am wondering if anyone has worked for OTL Solutions as a motorcycle courier.

What are they like to work for etc, what are minimum targets?

I have contacted them and they have given me some info, but before I commit to paying £255 for their topbox, and upgrading my insurance to courier insurance, I want to know if they are good to work for.

So please let me know your experiences with them Smile

^^^^^
That.

As long as your topbox meets size and strength requirements, you just slap a sticker on.

Fuck paying a company to advertise for them.

So, they have their own fleet of 250 bikes under 3 years old that they maintain in their own workshops to ensure reliability, but... riders have to provide their own scootay and buy a giant box? Thinking

Well seems sensible enough to research and ask the great BCF unwashed, hopefully sensible enough to take above advice Thumbs Up

Tell them you got your own box, ask for a sticker..

Don't do it.

£225 for a top box is fucking ridiculous, they sound like crooks.

You're forgetting bike maintenance costs on top of that too.

Use your bike for pleasure and commuting, not work.

I guess no one bothered to look at OTL then? OTL have there own boxes that are considerably bigger than a top box and considerably more secure, the £225 is in all likelihood subsidised.

The most important thing when working for OTL is do you speak Portuguese with a Brazilian accent?

And that's "up to" 682.

It will end up less than minimum wage.

I guess I just guessed at their (implicit) claims about running their own fleet.

No job should include paying up front for anything, the PSV / HGV are usually a salary sacrifice if company provides on job training, so top boxes are top quality, are they yours to keep, or do you get monies back when you quit. Op made out it was a purchase not a deposit.. I guess 225 isn't bad for a good high spec box.. But even so.. Sounds like 225 for the box and a zero hours contract, there is plenty of firms out there subbing to private owners for "part time" "convenient hours to suit your busy lifestyle" I guess it's just not the world I grew up in. Those days of there's a job, do it get paid, do it well get more work have probably gone.
