Have a look at these routes these are what I plan to do this summer it’s either this or just get off a ferry in France and go for a ride.

Step 1

https://goo.gl/maps/65REhztzW4v

Step 2

https://goo.gl/maps/nuf7CDncXQS2

Step 3

https://goo.gl/maps/oVQDV3PeWbK2

I have two weeks to do this it I cant see it taking two weeks personally at the most ten at 3 to 4 hours riding a day.
Can anyone who's been to these parts of Scotland see any problems with my route?
It's 1500 miles in total.

3-4 hours per day - my bike is just getting warmed up at that. What are you doing for the rest of the day? Have a look at the maps there is much more of Scotland than what you have shown. Have a look at motorcyclescotland.com. Another thing to think about is some of the northern and western isles - bikes are cheap on the ferries.

Wink

Everything North of Loch Lomond is good. Everything South of it apart from the Kelso section isn't but there's little you can do to make the Glasgow/Edinburgh corridor interesting.

Just a suggestion: instead of heading down the A82 all the way to Loch Lomond if you turn off the A82 at Spean Bridge (A86) and head for Newtonmore then Aviemore. It's an easy ride to Tomintoul (A95) and from there over the Lecht (A939) into upper Donside. From there the A944 will take you into Upper Deeside and Braemar then hrough Glenshee. It's a decent road most of the way to Perth. Motorway I'm afraid for a bit but TBH I would rather just get that section out of the way as quickly as possible. I find the Loch Lomond and Drymen section of your 2nd section very tedious as it's always busy.

Just an idea but I hope you enjoy and hope the midges are few and far between

I'd definitely add Skye to the itinerary.
Borders and Hadrians wall are interesting.
John O'Groats isn't worth bothering with but the north coast west of there is good.

Thanks lads I was thinking set up and unset the tent ETC approach as a no rush holiday so 3 to 4 hours riding.
The sooner I get home the more jobs she'll have for me to do so I plan to take my time.

I live in Ullapool there are some really great single track roads off the main roads that i would recommend, the surfaces are not great but the views make up for that.

Example would be

Durness + Scourie have 24hr pay at pump, most dont and most close at 9 and some are not opened on a Sunday.

This especially Spittal of Glenshee bit, fantastic bit of road in stunning scenery.

If you have 3-4 days spare you really should consider the North Coast 500, takes in some of the most remote scenery with plenty of historic stops right by the roadside, and then there is Applecross!

Have fun.

With the time available, head up via the Yorkshire Dales, A6 & B7076 to Lockerbie, drop down to Dumfries and then take the A76 up to Ayr. Follow the coast to Hunters Quay and cross to Dunoon. The road down to Inveraray and Lochgilphead and then back up the coast to Oban is brilliant Thumbs Up

Heading south from Edinburgh, the A68 is quick and relatively scenic, but watch out for speed cameras.

Where this route is concerned I agree. That said (I realise it doesn't really fit with the planned route) the area around Dumfries and Galloway has many cracking sections. I spend most my time around there when just going for a blast.

I also agree with the rest of your suggestions. I hate riding around Loch Lomond. Way too busy and the roads aren't great anyway.

The B road that runs alongside the M74 - A74(M) is far more interesting than the slog on the motorway.
Agreed on the A68 being fun, however it's unbelievable for the amount of cameras on it.
