Hello All.

I have an issue with a flashing ABS light.
im 99% sure its die to water in the system somewhere.
it only happens when it rains and after a dry day or two it goes away.

i had a look and didn't see anything obvious.
i looked under the seat where the controller for the ABS is and it didn't look wet or damp.

it was simple to trace the cable from the rear ABS sensor to the controller.
but the front ABS cable goes under the tank and i cant see where it comes out.

any pointers prior to giving half a day to remove the tank ?

Cheers
C.

You could try doc short link in the dlc port and see any codes stored if it is a modern bike. Type honda dlc reset on YouTube. If you short out the dlc in flashes up the mil codes that's causing the light to flash.

ignore me....Just read

This procedure will also show ABS codes, if any, on so-equipped models. PCM codes will blink on the MIL while ABS codes will blink on the ABS light.

spent some time working on the bike today.
there were 5 error codes in all and they all led to a faulty modulator unit.

as per the workshop manual i reset the errors and took the bike for a ride.

as of yet the error light has not come back on...
so fingers crossed.

just in case i did take a look on the eBay and it is awash with ABS units from various CBFs and CBRs....
they all look the same...

what are the chances these will be the same part ?

Cheers
