Hi all I need to change my headstock bearings on the above bike. One place has told me there is one set that is needed, yet another place says two? Any ideas?
Cheers
Bod

One 'set' is going to be 2 bearings, one upper and one lower.

It will come as a set if you ask for the set.

Yeah it's fantastic, beyond anything I imagined. I've been quoted 83.10 for two bearings, Rolling Eyes plus labour time, don't know if that a good price?

Sounds about right... it cost me £35 for a set of rear wheel bearings for my Triumph...

I would recommend getting the parts and doing the work yourself as long as you have a way of keeping the bike upright without the forks in place. Last time I did that I used a rope to suspend the headstock from the rafters in my garage.

Hi

There are 2 bearings, top and bottom. Sometimes people only replace the bottom one (that is the one that gets the most wear).

They can be pigs to replace depending on the bike. Yamaha have a bad habit of having the bearings flush with the inside of the head stock so that there is no lip to use when drifting them out.

All the best

Keith
