Myself and a mate are hopefully going to do Geneva to Dubrovnik this September. We will be shipping the bikes over via Bikeshuttle to save a few days travelling. We have both been on a few trips around Europe but have never planned ones ourselves so it's all new.
I can manage around 200/230 miles daily in comfort. I have a damaged coccyx so I cannot do too many hrs in the seat without a lot of pain. On the route that we are thinking of what places would you recommend that we do not miss? We will be hopefully coming back via Slovenia, Austria, Liechtenstein and through a few of the Swiss passes on the way back to Geneva.

We should have about 2 weeks to to this trip and want to get in as many of the sites as we can. It will be all done in hotels via Booking.com so we will have a target to get to each evening. I will be on a Bandit 1250GT and he will be on a Tiger 800.

Cheers

Dubrovnik is a great destination - my wife and me had a week there as part of a 2 month European trip a few years back. The whole Dalmatian Coast is great and I'd highly recommend a night in Bovec in Slovenia. Stunning road in (we travelled from Zagreb), a great restaurant in the village and an equally stunning journey into Italy. Below is a link to my trip report - may be something useful for you in there? We did the whole trip other than our week in Dubrovnik using Booking.com. Still use it every year. Have fun Wink

Thanks for that and the link to your trip. I'll read it fully after work tomorrow.

I went to Dubrovnik during a cruise with my late wife in May 2014, we also went to Kotor in Montenegro. Unfortunately she passed away in April 2015 from cancer and I promised her I would take her back one day. I went back there about 5 weeks later but it was too soon. I drove back down to Kotor and up as far as Mali Stone to an amazing fish restaurant. I know the area fairly well now and I'm looking forward to the trip back down there.

Hopefully we can fit in a few good sights on the way there and back. I'll certainly bookmark Bovec and do some reading on the place.
