Sometimes when I am turning left (more sharp left corners) the engine goes BANG very loudly. Not an explosion kind of bang, more like something inside the engine or gear box slams hard against something else. Like a bang followed by some crunching.

I've replaced oil, cleaned oil filter, still doing it and while there's no problems so far it's still a bit worrying. What could it be?

Damaged wiring near headstock, causing momentary disconnection in ignition circuit. Bang is caused by backlash in transmission. Put bike on stand, run engine at about 4,000 RPM, turn handlebar left and right. Can you cause the engine to misfire?

Do three right turns instead of a left......yes I know it's totally inappropriate, but I just couldn't resist.
