Stereotype:

a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing.

Just wondered, if i'd missed BCF's thoughts on the 18 year old from Saudi, who managed to flee to Thailand and has now been given refugee status in Canada.

To me she seems really brave, to have had the guts and then the resolve and her stedfast refusal to see her family even though they'd followed her.

As I understood the story not really being interested, she wasn't considered a refugee, bawwed on social mediaings, then chief virtue signaller Justin whatever his name is swooped in to save the day.

Am I right? Smile

Sorry if I'm a cynic with these stories, they just always seem to end up with the persecuted party going back at some point, like the footballer we gave asylum to because he would definitely be killed if he returned to Sierra Leone... except when he went onto play for them in Sierra Leone.

Nah I thought the girl has done good and we rightly call out Islam for its failings but when someone breaks free, dons western clothes flees to a foreign country and then she now appears to be drinking red wine.

She preferred to go to Australia, the USA, Canada or the UK. I guessed Canada would move the quickest, tbh she should be safer there than here.

If she was being abused and forced into a marriage by her father as she says, good luck to her. ENjoy the wine Wasted

As an aside - Does anyone know what happened to that Christian girl in Pakistan who got sentenced to death for 'insulting the prophet'. It got overturned but when they tried to free her half of Pakistan went bat shit crazy demanding she hang.

From what I remember Imran Khan said he would review it again but I heard no more.

Also hasnt Canada publically got the arse with the Saudis recently for something? Have a feeling this is as much about pissing them off than how much they actually care for the girl

Are you thinking of the Saudi journalist who was murdered in the Saudi embassy in Turkey? I think Trump was leading the backlash until he got bored and was then criticised for losing interest.
