I've come across quite an annoying problem - I need to get my pass out to show the guards at work, and its on quite a steep-ish slope. Are there any accessories that are available to make it easier to show my pass - im thinking something like gloves with a slot for a card on the back etc?

I just need to quickly show them it then ride in, rather than hold up the queue of traffic waiting to get in whilst undoing my pockets and fumbling about for my pass with one hand on the clutch!

what about one of those armband holders that bouncers use, could probably adjust it around wrist?

Why not just on a lanyard? Unzip jacket, fish it out, takes seconds. If they are really worried about security you'd be removing your lid or flipping up the front anyway.

I'd worry about an external holder as there is some risk of losing the pass, and I don't like having a pass on public show (we are supposed to remove ours as we leave the building). The right hand (no lock) glove box on the pan is useful for quick access to stuff like this without faffing with zips, but few bikes have such convenient storage compartments.

I had same issue on the occasions I use the office car park. Not an issue anymore as got to know the security fellows who now recognise the bike as soon as I roll up to the barrier.

But to answer your question, just have your ID card hanging round your neck on a lanyard with ID card tucked into the jacket. Then when you need to show it just give the lanyard a yank to pull out the card.

good idea. will look into it

i have a lanyard with it in at the moment - gloves are too thick to undo the zip easily, would preser something like above so i can just wave my hand at them :p[/quote]

Umm. Put it in neutral?

If it doesn't have a magnetic stripe, you could put it in a holder with a couple of magnetic strips on the back and stick it to your tank.

If your jacket has a front pocket with zip, that usually works for me. Left hand on clutch, right foot on rear brake and my right hand pulls out the card - usually quite stable

I use that to save hauling a card out through eleventy layers of clothes. I even got one in orange to match my Horror Jacket. I wasn't entirely sure about the security of it (ironically) so have it fed through the adjustment cord just below the elbow of my jacket, job done.

This. Providing you dont have to thrwak the guard in the face with your pass, the see-through bit on top of most tank bags should suffice Thumbs Up

If you're going to get some kind of slotted gloves, then please ensure that the card is on the palm side, purely so that you can Jedi Mind Trick the guard.
