So:
Bike does spin but won't fire. Probably spaghetti wiring and a mix and match of electronomics.
Won't pass MOT because of the engine swap.
Easy fix, could do it myself easy, easy mate, just hadn't had time for 5 months and besides, I don't like money.
The kicker? That's above "private good" price for a 2012 Duke... whatever.
Oh, Gumtree, you don't half make me laugh.

That's the sort of bike I would see positives in and buy 
Edit: Roger am I right in thinking that one day soon you will have a KTM 390? Is there a dealers through the West where one can test ride these things? (ahh Drysedale motors I see) |

Nothing closer than Perth that I'm aware off. Sort it out, KTM (and Kawasaki, Yahama, Triumph).
Glasgow Ducati has a 390 in but not at a price that I find tempting given the high chance of fail. I'd have a cheap example, but this one is like three examples and it's not even cheap.
