Hey peoples, I made this! It's the very latest way to check your chain tension is calibrated. It uses an optical measuring with a special chromatic calibration stick. I'll be putting it on Kickstealer in a few days time but I'd like to let you guys get your support in early. £20 support gets you a mention on the product website when it goes live, and £100 gets you one of the first production run embossed with your forum handle.

It really couldn't be easier to use. You just hold the Chainpal by the advanced natural fibre composite handle, behind the chain so that the handle is vertical and the start of the blue band is level with the top of the lower chain run. Lift the chain with your other hand as far as it will go, taking care not to move the Chainpal. If it is adjusted correctly, the top of the chain will now be within the Red PowerBand.

It'll certainly be an improvement on my 'lifting up the chain in the middle with the toe of my boot' technique.

If so, count me in. Thumbs Up

It also features a built in dragon detector, emitting a smell of burning plastic if you are in immediate danger from dragons*.

Honestly, it is missing that very important catch phrase, like your chain is clear, or, be ahead of the chain slack and save thousands of lives.

On the other hand you do have a working prototype, so kudos to you.

Rubbish. All we've seen is a mock-up photo. We need a video, to check if the chain can be moved up and then will return down (without just reversing the video cllip). And we need audio to hear if the chain squeaks when being moved.

And what about the swingarm? If you hold this against it regularly it's going to damage the finish. It needs to be supplied with a bit of tape to wrap around that.

Badly thought out solution that will never work in the real world Thumbs Down

Or a Kneelpal Thumbs Up

How would I not confuse it with my wide range of paint stirrers?

It was raining when I made it, raining when I checked my chain.

Also stirs paint, but may impair future use of chainpal, may I recommend paintpal? It's exactly the same but without the tape.

You need a Shaftpal lube dispenser, for all your shafting needs.
