Moniaive is world famous for its Mediterranean climate.
Plus the Craigdarroch is a great location ,bar restaurant and accommodation.
There is another bar and a beautiful field. Rumour has it that there is underground heating and dancing maidens in the early hours on the field
Absolutely gospel according to my mate, magic jack the mushroom man.
A days ride is local.

I stumbled across a vintage bike rally in Spain once. The people were there with their pristine vintage bikes, either ridden in or towed in on a trailer. Every now and then they trundled out in small groups or individually. Really bizarre and ancient moped-like things on the road there. What was really nice was that they all stayed in a 4-star hotel. No shortage of beer and sausages in those parts, let me tell you... But nice, clean sheets? Yes. Rooms with ensuite facilities cleaned daily? Of course. Fantastic breakfasts and lunches? Without a shadow of a doubt.

I fully appreciate you have to put in the time and commitment to engage with people. But pitching a tent in a muddy field, crapping in a hole, eating from tins, etc.? It's asking a lot because it's demanding and unpleasant. You could hold such a bike rally in Tuscany and it would still be roughing it to the extreme. It's really asking a lot. How about organising something nice and comfortable?

Used to drive through Moniaive regularly, never appeared open!
Two work colleague lived there, oddballs doesn't come close!
I think it's a retirement village for ageing hippies, has more wind chimes and dream catchers per head, than anywhere else in Scotland!
