The winter was rather unkind to my 2013 Inazuma, and the starter had become a bit dodgy so thought I would open it up and see if something could be cleaned or greased. Nope! Magnets and springs all over the place so had to order a new one.

New starter took some wiggling to get in place but eventually slid home. Thumb the starter button to hear a whirrr, but no enagement. Took out to investigate and is identicle to the old one and can only slide one way in and align with one cog. Any ideas?

Guess I'm bumping until the weekend lol

Clean the starter button. I had this on the cb-1.
Then, check the starter solenoid. Sometimes just taking the solenoid off and cleaning the contacts help. You can also try to bypass it.

*whirrr? Electric noise or something actually spinning? If it's electric, then do all the above. Thumbs Up
