Very Happy Apologies in advance for yet another insurance thread.
I'm happy as I've saved 15% on my insurance renewal Very Happy

'Phoned to renew and tell them bike now has hard panniers etc. Told didn't make difference to quote so said I'd get back to them.
'Phoned around some more quotes and were in the same ballpark. Without breakdown cover about 16% less.
So last chance went through AA phone and pressed all the buttons for motorcycle insurance. Got through to the company my renewal was with Confused
Gave details as though a new customer (although why I didn't come up as existing I don't know) and was given cheaper quote with the same benefits. Only issue is a bit more excess (but a lot less than the other quotes I'd already had). So I guess I'm covered Cool

I didn't try to con anyone. I gave all the same details, same name, same address, same dates etc. as previous quotes and on the renewal. Why they couldn't just give me the cheaper renewal in the first place I can only guess Shocked. Cover is full comp BTW.

So maybe a tip for anyone else renewing insurance (did a search but didn't find anything specific)

HTH Smile

It's standard practice these days to up a quote on renewal as a lot of people just pay straight off. Always worth at the very least telling them you got a quote for their quote -£100 and seeing what they say.
