Pi Hut and Pimoroni both have limited stocks, if you want to grab one, do it quick. Limited to one per customer.

You can make ££ selling it on Ebay if it turns out not to be needed.

I feel I need one, even though I've not really played with my Pi 3 yet Smile

I'm considering getting a Pi at some point to make a games box thingy. Wouldn't mind a bit of doofing around to get some classic games playing. I might even learn a bit about how computers kind of work, too.

This is interesting (guessing that's what you meant): https://www.raspberrypi.org/magpi/diy-nes-classic/ Good use for all those blown cartridges Smile

Pretty much that yeah, RetroPie is the OS I think. And you can sync PS3 /PS4 controllers to it too. I'd enjoy it just to play golden axe once and then put it in a drawer.

There's also an emulator for dreamcast, with the Pi3 performing ok for most of the games I'd be interested in having.

I made a rather nifty little Ethernet to Wifi adapter for my Youview box (that will turn any Ethernet port to Wifi).

The new Pi Zero W will streamline the device down a nice amount, just leaving me with a zero and Ethernet port.

If I could work out how WPS works, I could sell them and become rich beyond my wildest dreams. I may look into this more and try to get it working.

More than likely AA monies to be fair. They would cost me £15 to make, so not many people are likely to pay £30 or so retail just to solve a problem that isn't that common. It's only really handy for older hardware too as most stuff is wifi now anyhow.

I could use one for my Xbox 360. When does the crowdfunding start?

It's already pretty much done and I've looked into the WPS thing and it seems workable with a little button on the case.

I coded everything myself to make the ethernet port a DHCP server and issue out an IP to the device as if it was plugged into a router and then I routed its traffic through the wifi, which connects to the router.

I looked everywhere on the interwebs and nobody else had ever done this, so I assumed it wasn't something that's much needed.

Oh I also soldered in an ethernet port to the pi zero, as it doesn't have one.

£30 is cheap, you can have one for £29.95 once I have the WPS sorted.

I want to see a working prototype in your kitchen sink first.

I made it, I think it's the only one in existence.
I wired in an ethernet port and set it as the DHCP servers port and used the wifi to connect to the home network, then routed all external traffic though the wifi port.

Ah fuck that, I've managed to get WPS to seek on boot, so you just boot it up, press the wps button on your router and they connect.

I was hoping for a solution that required me to do nothing on the router.

Just a case of plug it in and go. My wifi signal is terrible in my workshop at work, but I do have spare Ethernet, and spare a spare pi

How would it help? You'd still be connecting to the same terrible wifi unless I'm misunderstanding something ...

Because I have Ethernet ports available. So instead of connecting to an access point 80ft away through several walls. I can plug an rpi into available cable Ethernet socket, and then connect with wifi via the rpi
