Hi, reletaviely new to biking as i havent quite got my licence yet, I've had 125's but not big bikes.

Ive picked up an s reg cbr600f but not sure which model it is, f3, f4 etc.

Also its been off the road for 4 years so i was wondering if anyone had any tips on where i should start first to get it sorted n back on the road? I know a new battery will be needed, new fuel, new oil but what else??

Thanks

Dave

Check condition of brake seals and pistons. Make sure there's no rust inside the tank. I'd fit new tyres as the old ones might be perished and have flat spots. Check the condition of the chain, possibly seized links if it hasn't been stored correctly. Check condition of all hose pipes like the fuel lines, etc. Probably be ok but worth looking at anyway.

Likely an FW (which is an F3, last of the line).

I would check everything as it's been standing a while check for play in wheel barings and steering head barings etc, main thing is get it running and go from there as you will find out if you have any faults in its running condition.
Or take it to a garage and stick it in for a mot once running and they will pick up on any faults, only £35.
When I got my rf600rr it had been standing 2 years in their garden and I've had to replace quite a lot of stuff, from coils, leads, head and wheel barings, carb balance, fork seals, brakes rebuilt and new tyres anyway the list goes on

Thats pretty much what i thought, i will get a new battery, put the tank back on and get it running then let the mot check the main bits. Suppose new tyres won't hurt as they're pretty important lol.

I suppose 1 lucky thing is that its been stored in the garage since it was parked up.

Thanks guys
