Good grief Meef - you have got into a right two 'n' eight over this my good man! However, I do understand how it has got you fuming. Years ago, and this was in Westminster (not these days it wouldn't happen lol!) I used to frequently within bank runs have to park my Revere and dash upstairs in the Swiss building round the corner from Leicester Square. I would sit on the bike and wait for one of the wardens; they were not a bad bunch in those days. Anyway, I would let them know that I was worried about having my bike (my source of income) nicked and any of those guys and gals would even promise to watch over my bike while I was dropping off the document bag and picking up a replacement one. They were very helpful and would remark that a motor bike was no obstruction normally, even letting me park on the pavement as long as it was nowhere near a dropped kerb.
Some time later, when I had sold the bikes and got a van, I was on a similar run but my lunch hour would coincide with the Swiss building drop and there was one regular warden who would let me park the van outside the café opposite the building while I had my lunch! Happy days.
However, I find that if a warden is approached even these days, there is a slight chance that one can get on the right side of them.
Not much use to you now but remember for future ref!

When I used to hang out with couriers in Great Marlborough St back in the early Naughts (2000/1/2-ish), one of them (an English guy) one gave up couriering and became a traffic warden.

He didn't half cop some stick about it from the other couriers
I don't think he even lasted 3 months.

Just do a bit of chasing up. Recorded delivery letter to the council explaining that you received a parking ticket at such-and-such a time and place, and that you intend to pay it, but you lost it, so could they please advise you of any sum outstanding in respect of a parking ticket there on that day.

Hold up. I once parked, then realised I had no change. To my horror a wasp was patrolling very close to my car. So I explained the situation to him and he said that I was entitled to a ten minute grace period to acquire a ticket.
I have no idea if there's any Borg level documentation to back this up, but it's possibly worth looking into.

where i used to live.. i got on very well with the local traffic womble

First met her when i was unloading boxes from my bike just as we where moving in and she was going to write me a ticket until i explained id just this day moved to the new area and we where friends since, often laughing at how people parked where they shouldn't and got butthurt when ticketed...

a year later i got a ticket... and i was like what gives.. and she refused to talk to me.. like i was a stranger.. and walked off.. cunt

6 tickets later she was now my worst enemy.. always looking out for the car or bike and always ready to pounce.. even in the "2 hour" bays... the bitch was there 5 minutes past the 2 hours and ticketing me.. the cunt!

ended up me turning to the local faceache page and saying things about someone needing to hurt the bitch because shes hated by all in the town and then her being butthurt about what i posted

so i agree.. all traffic wardens are cunts.
