Fitted a solo seat cowl on my bike which is an OEM part only it's taller than the pillion seat its replaced. Now each time I have my rucksack on and it's fully loaded the base of the bag rubs on the top of the cowl, it has already rubbed and scratched the cowl but I've managed to hide it with a bit of polishing.

Seems like a tank pad would b a decent idea to stick on there but it's going to look out of place, is there an actual item that can be stuck on and what should I be searching for?

In an ideal world I would go for something like in the image below, the rubber protector branded with "S1000R" in either plain or my brand of bike. Can you buy these things?

I've searched for seat cowl protector, seat cowl pad and similar terms with no joy. Thought possibly stick some vinyl decal on there to save it but trying to avoid looking tacky. At the mo I take it off when commuting and put it on when on fun rides.

TL;DR, new seat cowl gets scratched when wearing a bag, how can I protect it.

You can buy little round mini scratch pads for dotting about here and there. I'd recommend the clear ones. Thumbs Up

I'd go eBay, "self adhesive rubber feet" and revel in the wondrous variety.

Heli-Tapes pretty good, just comes in big sheets so you can cut it to size. People use it on Mountain Bikes to stop them getting scratched.... i dont bother on mine like haha

heli tape/paint protection film, make sure everything is clean when you apply it and you shouldn't even be able to tell it's on there once done.

Then people won't be able to see that it's racebike. Tut Tut
