So devastated badly, getting the bike out for a sunny ride and the side stand came out from under it and the bike fell. it fell and pinned my leg to a wall so thought wow lucky but on a 2nd look i have a dent in my tank now not a small one. So devastated, my zx6r is damaged and dont feel to ride it now with a dent in the tank.

Is the tank leaking or weeping? no? Then grow a fucking spine and ride it until you can fix it.

Hey I take pride in my wheels. I did take it out to a few breakers half of them never saw a black g2 before. Advised to go on part finder uk? never heard of it but worth a look.

Who cares about my leg, dont feel physical pain but emotionally devastated by the dent.

I found one on ebay but it looks like its got no dents but not very clean of scratches.

If anyone can help find a black 98 tank

How did the sidestand come out from under of it's own accord?
Springs not attached properly?
Springs don't typically just snap under expected load surely? Thinking

EDIT: I misread, thought you mean't it came out as you were riding, noob mistake Smile

Well i got it unlocked spun it round pushed it forward toward gate, start up to choke side stand down and rested as done hundreds of times, took a couple steps to open the gate and it fell over. Pinned my leg to the wall so thought it was ok i took the impact and weight , then devastation.

So, you didn't extend the sidestand fully. Go and ride it if it's not weeping or leaking.

do you spin it round on the side stand?

that can weaken and break them, though I do it anyway sometimes.

We needs pics of the damage.

You're going to be hard pushed to find a tank of that age which doesn't have any scratches or other marks on it. Therefore if you want it to be pristine your best bet is to either fix your tank with filler and paint or to buy a tank from eBay or a breakers and paint it black.

Fill in all the part finder websites you can and see if anyone has got what you're looking for.

You should double check before buying anything but a G1, G2, J1, J2 or A1P tank will fit as well as ones from a couple of ZX9R models of that age. Thumbs Up

I was just about to post something derisory about you over-reacting to a minor incident. Your (over) use of the word "devastated" jarred with me tbh.

However, having seen the pic, I think devastated is too soft a word to describe that horrific wound.

I can only refer you to undertake further reading on the Seven Stages of Grief.

You're clearly in the shock stage now.

It's only going to get worse.

But be strong and one day, in the far distant future, you will look back on this and, well, probably cry all over again.

Soz.
