Unfortunately, I'm looking to sell my bike due to financial problems.

It's a 2007 Kawasaki ZX6 in wildfire pearlescent orange, I bought it in May 2015 for £3800; it only had 5800 miles on it.

It's seen some rough times unfortunately, as I had a couple accidents and most of the fairing is scratched/broken.

If I were to sell it, I would have to replace the right side fairing (OEM £250), the front mudguard (OEM £160), and then spend £100-200 fixing the rest of the scratches with spot paint, etc.

Alternatively, I could get a chinese-made full fairing set for £450 or so. It seems like the more sensible option, if the color matches. But does that have "resell" value?

What do you guys think? I'm hoping to spend maybe £500 fixing it up and sell it for £2500 - £3000, is that reasonable?

You'll never get the money back, just sell it as-is. Thumbs Up

^^ This Thumbs Up

Forget spending £500 on it, just sell it for £2k as is.

This is the one where you had the crankcases welded up after a previous crash?

I wouldn't think anyone in their right mind would pay what you're hoping for, unfortunately, and Chinese fairings would make me look harder.

Just be honest when you come to sell it. If it's the right price, I'd be interested.

Good memory. Yeah that's the one.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

What about mechanical issues? Like the back brake doesn't work very well anymore due to it being bent, is that worth fixing? Or just sell as-is?

Depends how much it'll cost to fix, it isn't usually worth buying things to fix something broken, only to sell it (in my experience). Hence why so many motorcycles get broken for spares instead of being repaired.

If you were in no rush, I would say fix it up but if you're needing money, why would spend money you technically don't have and prolong the process just to get less what you spent on it back?

No point repairing it if you are not going to keep it.

Sell it as it is. Looks like you already have two suitors in this thread.
