So, while giving the bike it's post winter clean down (one can hope), I noticed what appears to be rust around the base of the shock.

Basically, I'm asking the more knowledgeable folk of BCF if I should be concerned.

The bike's my ER6f and is just under a year old and has under 2,700 miles on it. It does live outside but is covered. It does get ridden in the wet as it's my commute bike and I covered most of it in ACF 50.

Spray on some penetrating oil, attack with toothbrush, dry off and apply ACF50 with same brush.

Looks like the paint is blistering off the bottom washer too, if you give it a poke with a screwdriver, I suspect it'll come off.

Is Japanese motorbike, they only put one layer of paint on these bits.

I've just spent hours cleaning the sh!t off! Laughing

Anyway, cheers guy. I was just a little concerned because of the location of it. I'll get some penetrating oil and re-applly some ACF50 to it. Thumbs Up
