Totally off topic, but I thought id share it with you.

Long story short, Me and the Mrs moved into our house in Jan.
Didn't really put any thought into the garden as it was cold, snowey, etc.
But now it's warming up, the lawn needs cutting.
Thing is, it's 100ft+ of pure grass. Laughing

Fuck having a plug in mower.

So, I jumped on Ebay, and picked up a non-runner, Suffolk Punch Mower for £27.00

Collected it, had a little look at it, turns out the carb was totally clogged up.
Cleaned it out, got it ticking over, but as soon as it was revved up, or a load was put on the engine (Engaged the roller or blades), it would just stall.

I gave up on the carb in the end, and decided to put a Pit bike carb on it. As the original carb had some poxy self-revving system, which increased the revs if they dropped too low.
Problem is, it was a bit too snappy, and I think it kept flooding.

Took a bit of modifying to get the pit bike carb on. But it runs on point now. Very Happy

I'd like to tart it up a bit more, but for now, it cuts the grass, and it does it bloody well too.
Need some practice on my lines now, as it mows like a football pitch.

From stock, my 'mods' are:

Ally MTB Levers (Originals had weird safety catches on which were a pain to use)
Silicone HT Lead and cap
NGK Plug
MTB Foam grips
Pit bike carb (19mm)
K&N Style air filter
Removed Pull start, and fire it up with the De-walt and a 19mm socket

Needs more slash-cut drag pipe.

And matt black paint with flames on the grass-box.

I don't suppose you fancy tinkering with my Honda HRX426? It's a proper shed.

Excellent behaviour! Thumbs Up

I do agree though that a set of MX renthals and a quick action twist grip throttle would be so appropriate too!

I like the thought of a vertical stack exhaust too with a rain cap on it to finish off the engine pimping too!

In my sick mind I can see it painted in gauloises colours with a big yellow 46 on the fuel tank too. Laughing

Actually it reminds me of the Atco hover mower I rebuilt 10years ago, and did another clueless twat Stevo tune on.

At least with a pit bike carb there's no butterfly to file down and knife edge, to the point where it's such a poor fit you get a 2000rpm idle. Also it's at least the second two stroke engine I've totally fucked up by deciding to skim a massive amount off the head/block face. It nearly broke the recoil with the compression after that, and I'm too scared to run it again as I since found out the engine runs a flimsy aluminium con rod, and I might have ripped the governor mechanism off too.

If you're cutting rye grass, don't forget to wear your Grainpal.

Regarding lowering it.
It's actually got an adjustable ride height already, for cut length. Laughing

And as for a trailer with a seat on.
I've already thought about making some sort of buggy-board to stand on.
I'll look like i'm mowing my lawn on a fucking segway. Laughing

Chrome up the bare metal and bootstrap housing, shiny paint job and BCF stickers.

#thatwasthejoke

But it's got the plastic collector. I don't think I'm in any way a purist, but really they need a rusty, dented to buggery effort up front that clanks and rattles over every bump. Bonus points if it comes off on its own when it's full. Protip: bending the tangs in a bit helps locate the collector during the pitstop.

I'd go for a custom Birmabright allow collector.
