Just bought another car, I already have a van with x number of years no claim bonus on it. I want to keep both, when insuring the new car and it asks how many years NCB you have, can I quote the van and get get it on the car as well as the van or does it follow the vehicle?
Can you claim NCB on 2 vehicles?

OGR.

Nope. Only option would be multi-car, but being a van I'm not sure that would work. Also you can't split NCD which's annoying Sad

You can't use NCD twice. Either add the van to your car policy or insure it without any NCD.

None of the answers are actually correct above Im afraid,
A lot of Insurance Companies "will" mirror the NCB for a 2nd vehicle.

I always found it better to discuss new insurance business with a person on the phone rather than just buying on the internet. I have at various times acquired second vehicle insurance and found that companies will quite often 'credit' x number of years NCD based upon your history and current NCD with another vehicle... but you have to ask them if they will do it because they won't let you know if they think they can clobber you for the full 100% premium.

On a separate policy and part-way through a term? I never knew that.

I have multi car policies because we have 3 cars at the moment. All cars have seperate NCDs so I have two ongoing NCD's for the Ford and Twingo and wifie has one for her cabriolet.

I have been with both Admiral and Direct line for multicar and neither mirrors the NCD from one car to the others.

I think Admiral gave me a small discount over and above the multicar on the 3rd car when I had no NCD for that one but it was pennies and just a discount, no ongoing NCD.

Any chance that an Adrian Flux monkey deliberately mis-applied your NCB in order to earn itself a commission?

Bit of a hijack but do Adrian Flux take bike NCD? I found peepz saying they did in older threads but can't find anything on their site (too shy to call them).

I asked them to mirror it.

They agreed.

Once the two policy terms were over, (one with Admiral and one with Equity) I had two NCB confirmations showing the same amount of no claims. I then used these on the same two cars again, but with different firms IIRC.

We're going back some years now....perhaps 2005?

Would/could/should anyone do it now? No idea, I've only got one car now.

Can't remember who my first bike NCD was held with but when I started a second policy because I bought a car (I was already named on the ex's car policy) it was with Liverpool Victoria and they credited me with three years NCD despite the fact that I'd never held car insurance. I had been on her car insurance for about 7 years at the time and had quite a chequered bike history by then!!!

This was pre-millenium in the days when LV didn't advertise, they were the cheapest fully comp provider by a long shot and, as it later turned out easy to deal and quick to settle both house and car claims. Things with them went downhill when they started to advertise.
