The hole on my right rear footpeg that retains the ball that keeps the peg neatly up or down are worn. This has been pissing my pillion off for a while as getting the footpeg down is hard, and it sometimes kicks up and refused to come down whilst she is trying to get on. Annoying but not fatal. I gather this is common as one rescued from a parts bike was just as bad.

Now the footpeg has a new trick, it makes a metallic ringing sound that causes HOLY FUCK IS THAT MY CAMCHAIN?!1one1one level of panic. This may have been noticed when didn't put in earplugs in and travelled calmly across the county obeying every traffic law. This was more than a free coffee at mcdonalds is worth.

This is too much stress. As confining (now returned) child to his room for the rest of forever isn't an option, it looks like time to sort out pegs. Do pillion pegs from other suzukis fit (like the mkII b12?) or do I have to somehow track down a pair of rather elusive 2000-2004 gsf600 pegs? I'd rather not go with lairy anodised colours, and the pattern b12 pegs with rubbers appear more luxurious than the pretence-of-sporting bare metal of the oem part.

Also does anyone have a spare right pillion peg/exhaust hanger, they are rocking-horse shit.

have you had a look to see if it can be repaired?

without seeing it, I am guessing there is a captive sprung ball bearing in the peg itself that locates into a hole in the carrier to hold it up.

Again, need to see it but the hole may just need dressing, (or filling with weld and redrilling, or the ball needs replacing or drilling the peg and fitting a bigger ball etc. but easiest option first).

Probably my first option would be to dress the hole by putting a chamfer on the edge so there is a smoother more gradual ramp for the ball to ride when you put the peg down

need to see some pics of it when dissassembled.

Ok, had the footpeg off today, there's wear around the edges of the hole for the captive ball on both peg and hanger. I have managed to find an unweighted peg that is fits similarly but has the same wear and some larger balls. I think the problem is the holes in the hanger has become too chamfered and the ball sinks in too far. I have found some larger balls and will be drilling out said unweighted peg to see if I can get that working.

It looks like pattern replacement pegs have an additional plate which I assume fits in the hanger as a cheap way to solve the problem of enlarged holes.

Ok, B12 pillion pegs don't fit, they as big as the rider pegs and fit similarly.

It seems b6 pillion pegs are gsxr fitting. I have made a knackered old peg work by drilking it to fit a 1/4" ball and packing with a penny washer.

Unfortunately mrs hat has seen the pegs and likes them. New question, would a b12 footpeg hanger fit? There is both subframe and stock exhaust to consider here.
