Just a heads-up for those that didn't know. Dropbox have now removed Public folders and direct linking access. Any images that were directly linked will no longer work.

Does this mean I can no longer share stuff via dropbox. Not that I've used it lately.

You can still share stuff, you just can't direct link ... so for example you can't embed an image using it any more...

Ok a little 'fix', no idea how long it'll last but:

1. Put file in derpbox public folder,
2. Right click, copy Dropbox link
3. Paste link to wherever but replace the dl=0 with raw=1

eg:

Code:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/3td51n8io5bxuug/hfs.png?dl=0

becomes

Code:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/3td51n8io5bxuug/hfs.png?raw=1

https://www.dropbox.com/s/3td51n8io5bxuug/hfs.png?raw=1

Presumably the intention is to force only inks to their page with image on and it will gradually become festooned with evermore garish adverts.
Can't imagine the workaroud lasting long!

Don't trust Dropbox anyway as twice now I've had mysterious swathes of deleted files over multiple folders all done at exactly the same time to the second.
On their forum *support* said it must have been me because it's impossible they did it. Rolling Eyes

Then numerous other users chimed in with similar incidents.
It's quite a feat deleting blocks of files from some folders but not others at exactly 5:27am on Christmas Day when computer was not even on.

To be fair if you realise what happened you can undelete things for a while - which took ages.

Google Drive and One Drive are better, but should not be a primary backup - OK for a secondary cloud storage of semi-important stuff.
