Hiya guys,

I have foolishly ordered a 12v 3Aph battery... now online I see it should be a 12V 5aph. Would this battery damage anything on my 1982 XT550?

thanks in advance Smile

No it just won't be as powerful. You might find it won't always start especially when it gets cold.

Might be alright. The Ah tells you the capacity not the ''engine start'' current which is measured in A, which tells you how ''powerful'' a battery is.

In simple terms a 5Ah battery lasts longer if not being charged, therefor you have more tries to start your engine. The starting procedure being the most challenging thing the batery has got to do. Once the engine is running, the power draw is insignificant.
