Kriega US-10 or US-20?

More luggage talk, wheey.

Got a voucher to spend and decided that I'm going to put it towards a Kriega bag. Originally was going to splash the cash and get both a US-10 and US-20 but I'm not saving any money by doing so compared to buying one with the voucher + cash now and another latter so figured I'd ask what one current users would go for given what I carry and buy what I need and add to the collection at a latter date if I really need to.

Currently use a Oxford 36L expandable bag and while it does it's job it's annoying me because (a) crap base zip connector adding to faffery time (b) base + strap system means getting under the seat takes longer than it should (c) rather remove the tape currently all over the fairings to prevent damage.

Be using the bag to commute with and carry:

1) Pragmasis 16mm
2) Pragmasis 13mm
3) Disc lock
4) Tool bag (lynx washbag full)
5) Food (one container)
6) Jacket (sometimes)

.. And then there needs to be room for carrying little odd bits that I buy from time to time but generally when I'm commuting 99% of the time the above is all I carry.

Photo of underseat to ensure Kriega system would work with bike, I figured I'd just put cable ties either side of the web strap you hook round the frame to stop it from moving:

Also the best way to pack a Kriega? Chuck the chains (starting with heavy - light) at the bottom and then pack upwards and lug it on and secure on the bike afterwards?

I've got a Kriega US20 and whilst the quality and function is brilliant I will say the straps that go under the seat are a bit of an arse ache. On the VFR they make the seat tight to the point I had to batter fuck out of it to get it to unlock. Totally depends on the bike/seat but just my observations with my particular arrangement.

Clothes take up the most space in my US-20. 1 jumper and a light jacket and its 80% full.

With your things Id say the 20 is best suited.

The straps are extendable from the frame so it would fit fine on your no problem. The issue with the seat isn't one I have come across on mine so cant comment.

Once the clips are in place - it takes about 45 seconds to put the bag on / take it off.

The most annoying thing for me is when I nip out at lunch and dont need the bag, I have to remember to remove the loose clips from the secured straps so they don't get lost on the journey!

Considering the cost of replacing those little fuckers they stay clipped to my packs and I just loosen them off and unhook them from the bike straps.
