Morning all,

I've got a kill switch coming in the next few days as its the exact design I am after for my project.

However its actually a horn button function that I'm after...

I reckon I can pop the top off and disable the "clicker" part of the button so it effectively becomes a broken kill switch and fails to click "on" and stay on.. Creating a horn button.

Any thoughts on how easy this is - anyone done it before?

This is the switch in question:

Thanks!

I can't see why it would be too difficult. I've not opened one up but logic would say that it'll just be a little tab that'll hold it down until you click to release it so cutting or sanding it off should suffice.

Thats the plan, and as it is such a simple (read "cheap") device, I'm expecting it to be a simple plastic tab I can get to with a sharp blade..

Tar. Thumbs Up

What's this for, fitting Nitrous to the 1250?

How did you guess! Shocked

Knew there was a way to get it to 100bhp.

Just adding a second horn so I can use a friendly horn for "meep meep - im here - please dont kill me"...

And a second one for "HOOORRRRRNNNN - you just tried to kill me".

This makes sense. Horns are there to be used, but an Angry Shout one is likely to end up with someone stopping you if they can stop you.

Go on, fit an AROOGA horn, you know you want to. Wink

"If I can stop em - I'll stop em." - KTM Man

When I finally get around to doing a signature - thats going in it!

I've got a steibel nautilus "type" horn (cheap chinese knock off) but a train horn would be awesome...

You can get kill switches that 'push to make' for pitbikes. They usually just earth the coil though cutting the spark.

Interesting....

Because that may be exactly what this is! - It was labelled as Horn / Kill switch... Which was confusing me massively!

Thanks!

Does it toggle?

Admittedly some time ago but all the button ones I have come across just make (or break) the circuit.

The "toggling" ones have all been two button, rocker switch or kill cord

It doesn't say in the description (from China Rolling Eyes ) - But from yours and Marjays feedback, it looks like this might well be a "make it or break it" button rather than a toggle.

Thumbs Up

In that case you may have one that is "open & push to close the circuit" or "closed and push to open the circuit". If it is the latter, you could always market it as NoisePal

With the pitbike ones I've had you just push and hold the button to kill, which would be ideal for what you want I think.
