I clearly have a bunch of 'yes men' for friends who feed my narcissism.

I don't think anyone has ever complained about the state of my place, apart from my constant internal dialogue of 'you're not as good as you should be'.

On a related note, we recently sold a house which was on major A road. Several viewers said after (wasting our time) viewing that they were put off by the A road. Would the location not have been obvious, by the er, address?

Tossers grrrrrr.

On the same note, prospective buyers come round to view and they find faults which, in their indignant mind, justify a lower offer.

So they are outbid, same as when they previously tried to buy a house.

Send your visitor to me. I have a cupboard under the stairs that I can rent out hourly for just such needy types. I might even get into the mood to strut about in high heels outside the door and shout insults through the keyhole at them until their time is up.

Thumbs Up Wink

It's rare that I get negative comments on our place because it's quite clear I don't give a fuck what anyone thinks.

Tend to get positive comments from the gents who are under pressure from their other halves to play the Jones' game as I prioritise fun times and toys over being a fully functioning adult Very Happy

I then really spoiled their day by telling them how much my monthly mortgage repayments are (I live in rural Cumbria, they live in urban Devon).

Are they incomers/new buyers? My urban Devon mortgages never exceeded 400 quid a month, generally floating between 315 and 380. Dance!

My house guests know me better than to point out failings in my decor/tidiness.

Easier all round, really.
