Working in the garage during the long winter evenings got me rummaging around in the loft for my old boombox - a Hitachi TRK8080, bought in 1982 for £95 new. Soon had the volume turned up, listening to the radio, a hot cuppa tea and half a dozen ginger nuts to dunk... Wink

So who else has got an old/fave boombox in their garage/shed/kitchen while fixing up yer bike? Here's a few of my fave music list -

Keep on Loving You - REO Speedwagon
Take it on the run - REO
Like a Hurricane - Neil Young
Wish you were here - The Floyd
Voodoo Child - Jimi Hendrix
Another girl, another planet - The only ones
Gimme Shelter - Rolling Stones
Creep - Radiohead
Telephone Line - ELO !!!!
What's Up - 4 non blondes
Knock me out - Linda Perry
Glory Box - Portishead

Silence.

More than once a slight "dink" has told me something small but essential has fallen off or where it's gone.

Another one for silence. I'm a bit thick so need to concentrate fully on what I'm doing.

If I'm just milling about in the shed and I can be arsed to take it in I've got a Bose Soundlink II that I run via Bluetooth to my phone.

Punk rawk for me please Middle Finger

I have a not quite as old JVC Bass tube thing. I've had it about 20 years mind you, looks like a bazooka.
Bought it at the end of the 90's in Costco for 135 quid. The rubber coating on the ends has started to go a bit gooey
and it needs a bang on the top every now and then because one speaker connection inside is a bit iffy. Otherwise it
still works and sounds great. It's been on many renovations and property development projects with me.

It has 3.5 aux input on rear so I usually connect my ipod to it. It's very loud and VERY bassy so the whole
downstairs is music filled if I should want that. It lives in my utility room off my kitchen. Out in the shed I
have a small digital radio (with a 3.5 aux out) and I've been known to combine the two.

I have a cheap Polaroid (read Asda) Bluetooth speaker in my garage, and I listen to Spotify. This is because I'm a resident of the 21st century.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Radio 4, as long as it is not The Archers, or Womans hour, or just about every play they ever have broadcast.

edit: oh and I also hate the Listening Project, but it's too short to bother turning off

iPhone, Google Play. I uploaded my collection, so there's somewhere about 12000 tracks on shuffle.
