Serious question: I've never actually used either but is Muc-off for bicycles the same as the motorbike stuff? Or is it 'Muc-off-lite' or something?

Just that I'm in Aldi right now, and see they are flogging the pushbike stuff (£3.49 for a 500ml spray). I need to wash the bike this afternoon, so...?

Far as I know it's the same stuff. 500ml isn't going to go far on a motorbike though.

£3.49 for 500ml is expensive as you can get a litre for a fiver from wiggle. https://www.wiggle.co.uk/muc-off-nano-tech-bike-cleaner-1-litre-bottle-with-spray-2/

Thanks!

I put it back on the shelf (but now I'm going to end up washing the bike without the benefit of Muc-off. Oh well)

Bah this gets confusing, the stuff Aldi are selling is the Muc Off Urban Bike Cleaner. Rolling Eyes

Is there any difference between the Urban Bike Cleaner, the Nano Tech Bike Cleaner and the Nano Tech Motorcycle Cleaner other than the prices? Doubt it. Laughing

Get a squirty bottle and buy fenwicks
https://www.merlincycles.com/fenwicks-fs1-bike-cleaner-concentrate-degreaser-48315.html
Much cheaper, keep it concentrated for degreasing chains engine etc and dilute for mucky bodywork and wheels.
Much cheaper and better than Muc off.

Same thing with their chain lube. I spent ages looking at their range then bought another brand that had one on sale Smile

Well I'm even more confused now. Where am I going to find a Nano Tech motorcycle to clean?

With a very very big magnifying glass, would be my guess.

fuchs off.
that sdoc might work ok, but it's eyewateringly expensive.

On a good day 2x5L bottles of muc off can be found on ebay for £25, Silkoline fuchs off is commonly cheaper. There's a myriad of caravan cleaner and bulk pink valeting cleaner that's probably pink muc off in a differrnt bottle for cheaps out there.

Note that a 25ml spray of blue muc off visor cleaner from J&S was 6.99 last time I looked, but 250ml of identical spray is a tenner online and I found the same branded as phone and tablet cleaner with a selection of microfibre cloths in the range, £7 for 250ml.

Liquid soap is cheap, marketing is money

I use wash and wax in a sprayer bottle

about 50/50 mix with water

spray that on leave for a bit and wash off with a hose

then use soapy water and a sponge/brush wash bike

then rinse again and dry

jobby jobbed

The little bottle is a handy size though. I keep it my jacket pocket with a microfiber cloth for cleaning the visor before I ride home. It's currently filled with plain water which I keep meaning to add a drop of car shampoo to.
But yeah, £7 is a rip off.

Probably costs a few pence more to manufacture the larger bottles, the difference in price between the 250mm and 25mm is probably pence, same with the fluid, ok it might be ten times as expensive but we are still talking single figures in pence, by the time you add multipliers to ex factory cost, add in packaging, distribution, margin for everyone in the chain, then it always pays to buy the biggest bottle they have, still a fucking rip off though for cheap detergent and some water (or should I say hydraulic H2O?)
