Was just telling my mate (who's 19) go do ur CBT then get a restricted 600 for 2 years. Googled to double check and realized it changed in 2013 to a different 'staged' system.

Can we update the guide or?

Ash

I hope you've now informed your mate that he can't ride a 600 on a CBT. Laughing

Was that even true prior to 2013?

Edit: Ah ... Gotcha. Very Happy

You can ride one under instruction for your CBT, but you can't ride it solo with a CBT as your only qualification.

I went straight onto DAS. Bought a bike after I had my A entitlement, made the most sense in my case.
At the time I had a 300bhp car capable of 160 so a 125, 250 or 400 was never going to get my dander up.

I did not realise that. Smile

I know you could use more or less larger bikes for the 'training' with the instructor for test preps and riding skills and the like obviously, but I did not know you were in theory at least allowed to use a > 125cc machine for the CBT.

Simply given what the CBT is meant to be, I'd of thought they would want you on a 125 at most.

Reminds me I must find time to post up my short but odd bike history at some point this week...
