Just had my 600 mile service and the next one is due at 3750.
However looking through the book it's just a brake fluid check, and evaporative system check no oil change till 7,500.

Worth doing or not bothering? Or do it and get the oil changed also.?

Go on youtube and learn how to do it yourself thats how i taught myself to service my bike which i bought brand new
this meant i invalidated the warranty
a service at the dealers was £130, which was a valve clearance check/adjust, change the oil (oil cost £10)

no way am i paying £130 for that when it takes me 20 min to do all that and if the oil spinner needs cleaning then the 2 gaskets needed are £10 and all in will take me about 1hr as i like to take my time.
total cost for parts for a full service is £20

bearing in mind the bike was only a honda msx 125 but i only go to the 2 mechanics i trust if the work is beyond me like valve clearances on GSXR 1000 or electrics like alarm removal

if your happy with invalidating your warranty like me then learn to do the servicing yourself via youtube with tools brought from halfords. Thumbs Up

I've invalidated my "warranty" as well due to excessive costs and I like servicing my own vehicles. My 2nd service was oil change and torque settings check for about £150 I done it for £35.
I will get a garage to do valve clearances but not main dealer.

Already been stated; do you want your warranty? (You DID buy a brand new bike so that surely must have been the driving reason, noi?)

If not, tinker away!

I imagine the dealer will think it's not worth bothering with, unless you're standing over them. They'll still take your money.

The usual answer: change the oil and filter, buy a custom ink stamp from eBay and stamp anything you like in the book.

I was imagining you doing valve clearances and oil changes in 20 mins on your litre bikes. Shocked

If you change the oil, and oem filter, and don't tell them, they won't know you've changed it. Smile
