Just over a week ago my beloved XJ6N which I owned from new was stolen and left damaged. The insurance wrote it off as a Cat D so today I did pick this up:

Kawasaki Z750R In fantastic condition, 11K miles on the clock, full service history, aftermarket can, levers, trimmings, mirrors and all OEM parts too.

Its chained by the front wheel to a 7ft tall concrete post, Got a heavy duty hardened D lock through the rear wheel and sprocket, With that, the immobiliser I am hoping it will last until next week and I get the alarm fitted.

Coming off the XJ6N I had before, handling wise the XJ was a shade more agile and 20KG heavier which you can feel, probably why its not quite as flickable.

Other than that, its up in power by so much. Close to 30BHP more and it feels it, But its very sedate around town, It'll plod along at 2-3K revs at 30mph in 4th happily with no effort. It'll purr down the motorway at 6K revs in 6th gear.

Much like the XJ it gets exciting around the 7K rev mark where it does take off like shit off a greased shovel. It's no superbike but she's fast and a whole lot of fun on the country roads and just as happy in town.

I am still getting used to it but so far I love it.

Nice Thumbs Up I'd quite happily own one of those myself.

My shortlist was z800, gsr750, fz8 or later year z750.

The Z800 was out of budget, We could not stretch to that. The GSR, both I enquired about had been sold, The FZ8 I just kept thinking then deciding I wanted something not Yamaha. I was due to go to Bournemouth to see the Z750 and this one popped up closer, cheaper and its the Z model with the upgraded brakes and suspension.

Dont regret my choice.

Sounds pretty similar to my shortlist really, although the bat sh*t FZ1 also appeared for me.

Glad you are pleased with it. It does look rather tasty! Thumbs Up

FZ1 I ruled out, had a play on one, did not like it, very front heavy, Which was partly why the FZ8 never swung it for me too.
