I hankered after a Monkey Bike and ended up getting one. It's just as fun as I expected, inexpensive and it's so small it's living in my hallway. Laughing Listen to your hankering and get it out of your system.

Finally got round to trying a 50cc automatic on holiday in Spain and it was an interesting experience. Tried the 50cc as it was the cheapest and way too hot to wear any gear so was quite happy to pootle along at low speeds.

It felt really unstable at first, and the lack of throttle response was strange. I suspect this was down to the low power and CVT. I can see that the maneuverability would be great around traffic. Good storage space, and it was so quick and easy to just put the helmet on and go. Hugely underpowered too. I was overtaken by a child on a mountain bike up one particular hill!

Some of the benefits were not having to get geared up, but I'm not sure how I feel about doing that in the UK with its more congested roads, and our weather is far worse. If I had one I'm not sure the bike would get much use, which I would miss.

I think the only time I'll end up owning one is if I have no bike, and I pick one up as a quick commuting solution. Happy to ride one on holiday, but they just aren't very exciting.
