So i've got this new speedo on the bike, but i can't get it to read the bloody speed.

https://i624.photobucket.com/albums/tt325/duncdmc/167187_1682472235398_1645368025_1484814_7595935_n.jpg?t=1296861905

The rev counter is fine, but i do need to know how fast i'm going Laughing

I've set up the magnets on it, and i've set up the sensor, and i've also put all the details into the unit as in the instructions, but nothing.

Anyone know how to work this bloody thing?

Cheers

Dunc

Sensor is on the brake caliper bolt.

It's currently about 8mm away from it, so i need to move it a lot closer?

Cheers

I set up a similar Trail Tech Vapor unit a couple of years back.

The magnet has to be very close to the sensor. It's only a small permanent magnet, and the sensor has no chance of picking up the rotation at high speed unless it passes very close by. It also helps being situated further from the centre of the wheel.

Took me a while to get it reading properly and consistently.

Has to pass within a mm or two i'd say, get a magnet and wave it past it, i just stuck mine onto the disc, then mounted the sensor on the fork leg can just move it round the leg to make it closer/further.

I moved the sensor closer to about 1-2mm, and i'm now getting a reading...

But it's still not right.

Was doing about 80 and it was reading 30, and when i'm bimbling around town it reads anything between 0 and 10mph.

Maybe something to do with the magnets? is there a certain way they should be round? noticed some of them have a wee 'N' painted on one side...

That, or the settings... it's a 110/70-17 and i make it to be 1787mm circumference, and there's 6 magnets on the thing so it's set to 1787 and 06P.

ideas?

cheers
