Confused

Entire place was chocka. No parking spaces left (for cars) everyone milling about the car park in gridlock waiting for someone to leave (who wouldnt have been able to leave anyway due to the state of the car park...)

So i filtered through and jumped on the kerb.

Drive through was 8 or 9 cars deep.

I order at the drive through and ask them to bring it out to me.

They've never refused.

If I'm in a good mood I'll try to balance my order on the tank, but this never really works out and I end up waddling the bike over to a parking spot, drink in hand and all.

I miss the days of the R125 with the fattest double-bubble screen ever where you could plonk your drink into it and it'd just sit there being perfectly cupped between the fairing and the screen.

That's about the only time a double bubble screen has come in handy on a 125.

I went through the drive through last week, wearing a flip up helmet. Ordered my food and went round to pay and the manager had a 10 minute rant at me about how they couldn't serve bikers not wearing helmets. I couldn't understand his point, i WAS wearing a helmet. Wouldn't be legal to ride otherwise...

Thats just odd.

Its about the same as the policeman that shouted at my mate in his fiat barchetta to get off his phone... (Its left hand drive, so it was the passenger on the phone.)

He looked a right plum. Laughing

I never really get this argument. Who wants to walk around inside a restaurant in a helmet plastered with insects?

Personally, I hate wearing one indoors, at all! I'd be pissed if I had to take it off to use pay at pump, and will seek out pay at pump to avoid the faff, but sod filling up and then standing inside a petrol station, in a queue with a helmet on!

OP? Nevermind.

Yes really. If you are referring to the insects as per the previous poster... Then what difference does it make if its in my hand or on my head numnuts? Rolling Eyes

If you are not referring to the bugs then please enlighten me as to what your "really?" refers to? Question

Fair enough each to their own.

I hate that the ride to macdonalds takes less time than for me to faff with my gear on and off and on again and off again.

If I had any intention of speaking to anyone Id have removed it (and do in other cases (Like going into morrisons or a petrol station or something). But this is all automated aside from the handover of food where tbh they just chuck it on the counter anyway.

I had my first experience of the new way to buy Mcdonalds at the Longwell Green branch. It wasn't better than
the old way. The staff were running round in circles, there was a huge pile of food waiting to be sorted and bagged. I'd only
gone in for a side salad and some fries because they had no salads in KFC where I'd already bought the bulk of my meal.
I could see my salad sitting there, and there are always chips ready so I got all stroppy about why I was waiting for food
that was ready to take. An absolute farce. Won't be back until they know what they are doing in there. The queue for the
drive through went out of the gate and onto the road so no better that way either. I very nearly had a Falling Down moment. Brick Wall

It doesnt help that the new machines take up the majority of the space immediately inside the doors as well... no clear places for people to stand and wait etc... its a bit of a joke.

But they have no problem serving car drivers yapping on the phone though...

If their concern is that you're about to rob the place, what exactly does asking you to remove your helmet achieve?

The only rational response to that belief is to hit the alarm the moment you walk in the door.

We're not talking about rational responses though, we're talking about bored mongs blindly following half understood orders created by faceless corporate spergs out of spite.

Agree its weird.

IF I was about to rob the place... and then IF I was peckish along the long walk from the front door to the tills and decided to order some food...

Then would asking me to remove my helmet make me reconsider robbing the place?

By all means - "Sir, the next time you come in, would you mind taking your helmet off before you come in?"

Asking someone to remove it there and then achieves nothing. Especially as as she was saying it, the person next to her was handing me my food!

"Err no tar its okay - I'll just leave."

Edit: The most pointless bit of it was I had my balaclava on underneath... So they wouldnt be able to see any more of my face.... And NOW im holding a weapon. Rolling Eyes

Is it always just about potential robberies though; maybe sometimes (eg in restaurants) it's because nasty bikers in helmets might be perceived as being scary or whatnot to mere civilians?
