From the one time I have been through it about 18 months from crash to payout. 100% not my fault, all caught on my helmet cam, but still they dragged it out.
Do you have witnesses? Do you have any footage? Has the other side owned up? Did the police attend? Unless the driver is going to be up front and say yup 100% my fault, get settled in for the long run. His / her insurers will be advising him / her to deny everything anyway, so get comfortable! |

<IMO>Injury = years.
You can ask for interim payments once blame has been admitted.
Instruct your own firm of bike specialist solicitors, don't be fobbed off by any random mob of renta-paralegals to whom your insurer sells refers your case.</IMO>

Had a similar crash June 3rd 2016.
The other side admitted liability, their insurance admitted liability.
The following things have happened:
Recovered bike.
(broken) bike was taken away.
Bike was valued, bike was declared a Cat C write off.
Bike was sold to the company who assessed the damage.
Got a cheque for a replacement off her insurance.
Got a cheque from the valuation who bought is as salvage.
Had medical assessment 1.
Had some physiotherapy.
Had medical assessment 2.
Had many phone calls from them.
They then say on the case for 3 months.
The claim has been referred to the other side apparently they have till May 23rd to respond.
I'm still waiting. Meanwhile my insurance got loaded.
Sister had a crash guy pulled out of a side road without looking in a car. IIRC that took nearly 5 years resolve. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. If you're fully comp, and can't afford to replace the bike out of your own pocket, claim for your bike through your insurance and then wait for the excess and compo from the drivers insurance.
If you're not fully comp, you'll likely be in for quite a wait I'm afraid. ____________________ Current bike - 2018 H2-SX, 2004 SV1000s, 2016 Aprilia RSV4 RF, 2017 Sherco SERF 300, 2003 Suzuki DRZ400 (stolen - AY53 JUU) |

Currently dealing with a claim from November, I've been given a time expectancy of 3 years so far. ____________________ CB125>CG125>GN125>ER5>K100RS>R1100RS>K100RS
