After voting against an amendment in the queens speech, to end the public sector pay cap, the government, despite advocating the pay cap since 2012, despite having no money, despite it being completely opposed to their own dogma are now making noises to end the pay cap!

Is there a whole orchard of "magic money trees" in the garden of No.10?

Looks like "strong and stable" has, seamlessly, morphed into "weak, maleable and populist"!

Is this sign now obsolete?:-

It sounds like you'd be happier if they kept nurses on starvation wages.

Why do you hate nurses? Sad

I remember a woman had a second home between her and her lover, and claimed for damp treatment on that. It was for her 'mental well-being' apparently.

I don't know what your inferring here? Aside from the outrageous claims are you saying people on a certain salary level shouldn't be able to claim expenses?

Not "people", politicians.

There's a case to be made that those who decide or influence how much things cost should only pick our pockets once to pay their way. No fair double-dipping on demand.

Clearly we're not employing Mp's with a brain, looking at the mess we're currently in, so maybe it's time for an industry related wage with qualifications to join parliament, rather than the diversity fest of useless Britain, parliament should be elitist, there's a reason wayne and waynetta slob are at the bottom of the food chain , we shouldn't keep sticking them in parliament and hope they make things better for everyone, that tricks failed.

Isn't Comrade Corbyn his god?

I don't agree with her on anything but she actually brings a lot to Parliament. If nothing else's it gives Philip Davies an opponent.

[Lamont was on the news earlier saying the U turns were wrong and a result of the amount of people who voted against the Tories. These new found Labour voters, were anti austerity and sympathised with spending more money we don't have. He was hinting at snowflake.

There's a lot of anger that labour have gained power in Canterbury due to up to 40,000 students voting "home and away" for Labour. Apparently many were "encouraged" to by the student union and Labour student groups.

Does that make sense now?

None of that has anything to do with the point I was making.
The labour party are not in power, the tory party, propped up by the DUP, are in power.
Half of the cabinet are now advocating ending the cap on public sector pay, a labour policy that was roundly ridiculed by the very same people before and during the GE campaign.
According to government, there has been no money to pay for this for the last 5 years, there is no money to pay for it now.
It is rank hypocrisy and is a direct result of May losing a majority in a GE that wasn't required.
It is nothing more than an electoral bribe, on an even grander scale than the bribe payed to the DUP!
At a time when UK needs leadership the tories have contrived to produce weakest PM and parliament for decades!

"Strong and Stable" my arse!

It has everything to do with it, if you look outside the rose tinted box.

The Tories are doing this because they fear the voters who are falling for Corbyn's empty promises to shake the magic money tree.

Apparently, people are getting tired of trying to get spending down to a point where debt doesn't keep rising. The last thing we need now is a government to come in and start spunking money into the public and social sectors, even more so when that party is ran by economic morons with no grasp of reality or figures.

"Twelfty"

We can increase spending without raising taxes. Just kill the elephant in the room

Is your vehemence because you believe that governments shouldn't represent the will of the people, or are you personally opposed to paying nurses a living wage?
