Any ideas on getting this bastart off. key won't turn in lock but cable does go taught when turned as much as it will, tried having a poke and jab around the latch with a screw driver but difficult to get to from underneath and not sure how the latch works ____________________ Current: Honda City Fly CLR125 2003 Honda CB600F Hornet 2008 Yamaha FZ6 S2 + 1991 Kawasaki GPZ500

Grab the cable with pliers and pull it. ____________________ NSR125RR - ZXR750H1 - ZX9R E1 - GSF600S - GSF600SK3 - VFR400-NC30 - SV1000N - ST1100-R - CBR900RR-R - GSF1200SK5 - GSF600SK1 - VFR1200FA - GSXR1000K2 - ZZR1400 D8F

I cleaned mine out the other week, it's fairly accessible from underneath. It's a simple mech where the cable pulls the sliding latch as pictured.

You should be able to release it using a pair of pliers or a screwdriver. From there it's easy to remove with the seat off. ____________________ Yamaha FZ6 S2 |

yea, that's how i imagined it worked from what I could get to, i've a dodgy neck so crawling under at an angle was quite painful.
I tried at the time wedging a screw driver in and trying to move via hammer taps but i think the sliding part is completely seized. ____________________ Current: Honda City Fly CLR125 2003 Honda CB600F Hornet 2008 Yamaha FZ6 S2 + 1991 Kawasaki GPZ500
