youtube 'YZF600 Engine disassembly 2nd Gear Rebuild'

that is pretty much the same engine and details whats involved should you want to repair it or at least find out why its missing 4th/

If its that much of a bargain, buy it and then buy a complete engine off ebay and swap that out.

I'm really very happy with my Fazer, but was also really happy with my GPZ.

They're very different bikes but fill a similar piece of the market, despite the 40 odd bhp difference they accelerate reasonably similarly (the GPZ is deceptively fast for a small twin cylinder bike), both handle amply for road riding for most riders, the GPZ will be more economical, the Fazer more reliable in my experience.

In reality I see little reason to swap a good GPZ for a bad Fazer.
