Yes, put it back to stock.
You might get lucky by adjusting the idle mixture. If you show us a picture of both sides of your carb (your carb, not a generic picture of what might be on someone else's bike) we might be able to highlight the idle screw.
In a pinch, hold your hand over the back of the exhaust while you start it. Yes, this is serious advice, I made the same mistake and this got me going until I'd put it back to stock.
And: put it back to stock. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
