Just checked mine and it's working tip top.

Apple are the masters at packaging underpowered goods in a nice package and then making us all think we need them.

The Imac started it, the Ipod went to another level and then the Iphone took the torch and ran and don't get me started on those shitty Dre Beats headphones too... (Sic)

Most people will buy what people tell them to, that's why advertising companies make so much money.

Every single iphone user I know has replaced at least one screen on their Iphone, I'm yet to crack one Samsung screen in 7 years.

Gorilla Glass as standard. Apple should take note, but then those screen sales must really help boost profits.

Every time I see an Apple device, I die a little inside.

The big issue for me is that this feels like a real case of a very large company trying it on, which I wouldn't expect from such a large reputable manufacturer.

AFAIK apple do use Gorilla glass? I think all my iWank devices going back to a 2nd gen' ipod touch have. I've never had to replace a screen* btw.

The only fault I've ever had was the power button on my iPhone 5, by the time I got around to taking it to the apple store it was out of warranty, but because it was a known issue they fixed it for free. They also replaced the camera and battery as well so it was like getting a new phone Smile

Why did they say they were going to charge £326.44 for a £149 repair?

I know fuel stations pre charge because they don't know how much fuel you are going to take (and so you can't do a runner Laughing ) but I cannot see why Apple need to over charge you.

Oh, and my 4 year old Sony Z2 is still chugging away happily Thumbs Up

She was practised at the art of deception.

During booking the woman on the phone mentioned that my card will be pre-charged £326.44, but not to worry as the charge would only be taken for the fixed cost of this repair program at £149.

Then get on to your bank and report the £326.44 debit as an authorised transaction.

Be patient, be resolute, you never authorised that charge (you didn't, you authorised an entirely different one), the company is refusing to discuss it, and you want it refunded in full immediately.

Better Apple's money in your account with them trying to contact you than the other way around.

They've lied to you repeatedly. Why trust them now?

I borrowed a spare 6 plus, backed up my data, transferred it to the loan phone, then transferred back when the new phone arrived.

That's one thing I like about Iphones, they are easy to shift everything from device to device.

You've earned yourself a Thumbs Down mister. That's the one thing I don't like about iPhones, go backup some app data... I'll wait.

I'm thinking more of the times it deletes all your app data, or all of your apps, or all of your music for fun. iTunes' probably the single most infuriating piece of software ever created.

I still remember what Apple did for 'sync' when ActiveSync first surfaced on them. Yes Apple, what i'd love you to do is 'sync' your 0 contacts database over the 356 contacts i had in Exchange, effectively wiping out ALL the data.

Blackberry / Android always understood what SYNC was meant to do.
