Interesting to see a "reasonably" priced beginners bike that looks quite like a real motorbike. It's no doubt gutless but at least Sinnis have a better rep than some.

Is 150kg dry too much weight for a 125?

Is it a 600 mister?

I expect they just left it in that river once they were done taking pictures.

There is a couple of videos in Sinnis youtube where it is shown crossing a river, they cut as the bike hits the first bump and start to wobble, few people wondering if it ever managed to cross it.

At the end of the day it is another cosmetic makeover for a 125 cc motorbike, one that seems targeted to a more mature segment of the market and nicely fills the gap left by the Varadero as a big bike, but with a lower price tag and also lower performance.

Houston, we have splashdown. Clapping

Eww, wet jeans. Sick

It's probably a perfectly decent 125, and fair play to Sinnis for making some (mostly) pretty slick adverts for it.

including the brakes most likely Smile

If I was in the market for a 125 this would be just about the top of my list. (after a Varadero)

At that money Thumbs Up

It would be quite tempting as a runaround with a little mild green laning capability.

What is it with the power output of Chinese 125s? Is there some local regulation in China that limits their power that they carry that over for export? ISTR reading somewhere on here that they have quite tough limits on bigger bikes that means they concentrate on tiddlers.

Oi! Hang on a minute you lot! .... I buy a 250 Chinese pos (Honley RX3) with panniers and a top box and you lot slate me and laugh at me .

Now another Chinese pos with top box and panniers comes on the market and you lot are saying almost positive things about it?
And it's a 125 Confused

On a serious note, I think as a 125, it might struggle as an adventure bike over any distance other than going to the next county.
However I would like to be proved wrong.

Beats me. I can't recall ever seeing one that claims (note, claims) more than about 11 or 12hp.

I believe their market is segmented into 125 and 150 capacities, so perhaps the don't want 125s stepping on their margins for the "premium" bikes.

But you chose to buy a 250 Chinese POS. If you are limited to a 125 that is a different argument as you really haven't much choice in the 'physically large bike' group. Razz

How do you rate your RX3? Just saying because the Sinnis Terrain is made by the same factory and it is sold elsewhere as the RX1, manufacturer for both versions is Zongsheng.

Well, my RX-3 is running fine, during the crap weather we've had since January, I've ridden it on the 120 mile round trip to work, before January, I based on in Birmingham, so, only a 40 mile round trip. Granted, since March, I haven't had to go Leicester daily, but even so, it's been perfectly fine, whether I've chosen to go along the A5, or gone the M54/M6/M69 route

Yeah, alot better than Honley have done with the RX-3, i wonder if Sinnis would take on the RX-3, or even the RX-4 once that's available?

Hmmm? I have had to put a few things right and sort out a few things on a fairly new bike (2014), and that's disappointing.
For example the rear brake cylinder needed replacing and it already needed a new battery.
As for ride and being out and about on it?
It rides reasonably well Thumbs Up
It will never win any land speed records or the traffic lights gp.
I am happy with it on the B roads.

The users handbook/manual makes for interesting reading, but is not a lot of help.

In the comment section of one of the videos to the question "If Sinnis Terrain sell well are you guy's are thinking of doing the 250cc?" they state
Sinnis Motorcycles wrote:
It really depends on the 250cc market - which in the UK is tiny. If we get enough genuine interest we may bring out the 250cc as a one off version - but from a business point of view 250cc are very small selling machines across the board with any manufacturer. Its a shame as I have personally tested the 250 and its also very good, like the 125cc

I think they will do very well with the Terrain, so there is hope.

For me it`s never about speed and it`s all about reliability .
99% of my tours (UK only) have been on my 250s .

Anyhow I must of missed your write up and pics about the Sahara and the mighty Chinese moped...... Link please Thumbs Up

touring and accomplishing big distances on lower capacity machines is my thing, stupid I know, but I cant help it?

You never finished the story - did you die?

My favourite part was when you were welcomed to Africa by someone taking a dump in a bin beside a toilet. Then it went downhill from there.

They promised to bring in the Trackstar 250 but I'm not sure they ever did. To my mind, if they made sure the things didn't decompose on sight there's a market for cheap fun 250s to be created. I'd have one in the garage.
