Hi everyone

Anyone had any experience buying from into-motorbikes on ebay? im fairly fuming, my kawasakis coils were fooked, so i got a new set of 4 from the company off ebay with warranty, 2 days the coils were in and the bike ran fine now the bike runs like a tractor as one of the coils has gone faulty and is dropping a cylinder, the companty have agreed to replace it no problem but they want the old coil back first.

the problem i have with this is because of the faulty coil i am not mechanical at all and have to use my local mechanic to find out which coil it is, give it to me to send back then wait for them to replace it and then take it back to him to put into the bike but insetad of them just sending me a replacement coil to swap straight out, im out time and money with extra labour ect to replace this part.

Also i have had to cancel a cycle race marshall job i had lined up for this weekend for extra cash as the bike isnt suitable to do it now, so im out quite a bit of cash because of this. I can understand WHY they wont send me another coil before reivceving their old one back but surely they could help me out with this as its their fault. all they offer me is to swap it out and wait for the replacement coil or to buy a new coil and they will refund once they recieve the faulty one but i had to buy those on a card and dont have the money for that at the moment things are quite tight. Mad Mad

Well, it's fairly standard practice for a seller to not issue a refund or replacement until they've received the defective part back.

Replacing a coil on a z750 is A quick job for even someone that doesn't know what a spanner is. Figuring out which one is faulty is a 5 minute job.

I'd be tempted to start learning how to look after certain parts of your bike yourself. You'll only feel better for it in the long run.

Yeah i would really like to do this myself, unfortunately i dont have any sockets to get the screws and tank off and have no experience in taking off the tank myself and for what to disconnect. Id be afraid of breaking something and making it worse. I know i just need to swap the coil to a different cylinder, it is a little more difficult as the coil is dropping out then working then dropping ect so its semi working and making more difficult to figure out which.

Sound like the coil may not be seated properly rather than a faulty coil at that point.

There are hundreds of videos online to guide you through the steps, or better yet, local bikers can be found to give a helping hand if asked nicely.

Start the bike, give it 30 seconds then spray a bit of water on the exhaust headers, the one that doesn't give steam off/boil the water is the one with the faulty coil.

Takes less than 2 minutes to figure it out.
