I expect a lot of shit for this.... but I loved the books, I'm on my (very rare*) second read through and just paid premium price for The Wolves of The Calla just to carry on the journey.

I recently found The Dark Tower is being made in to a movie.... and they've fucked it up before it's even hit the cinemas.... in my opinion:

It's wrong on so many levels... OK the film looks good..... but it's not the Dark Tower as I know it.

Am I just a complete piss head that loved the books and should accept the movies?

I think the books would have been incredibly difficult to make into a film if they were faithfully followed.

Idris Elba as Roland will take some getting used to. Doesn't fit with my vision of him in the books at all.

I think I might have to have a revision read of the books before watching.

I couldn't get through the books but the movie looks OK.

Just watched the Marvels Defenders trailer and it's missing the one person they I'd want to see Sad
