So, Richa gear, any good?

I ask because I have just bought the Richa Infinity Jacket and some trousers to go with it (air vent evo).

https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/199828

They fit well and have yet to be worn on the bike.

However I was back in the local bike shop and noticed they had Alpinestars Andes V2 gear, I tried on the jacket and that too was a nice fit. I know the first gen Andes gear comes fairly well rated for the money.

https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/329652

Anyone used Richa gear recently and can compare with A*? I notice the A* has a full zip to join them together compared to the Richa short zip.

They will be used for commuting throughout the year, minus really icy or very wet days when I'll just take the car. But it would be nice to know if I get caught out then the 20 miles home wont be horrendous.

Cheers

I've got some Richa gear (2 pairs boots, 3 pairs gloves, textile jacket, leather jacket and leather trousers).

It's all performed well, the waterproof stuff has stayed waterproof with year round commuting. Only 2 gripes would be the collar on the textile jacket is designed for people with a tiny neck and the leather trousers definitely shrunk while in the cupboard over winter.

I've had two Richa jackets, both claimed to be waterproof

both were as waterproof as a tampon

the boots I've had have been great.

I have a Richa jacket and trousers.
The jacket did me through Winter with no problems. The trousers leave me with a wet crotch (not in a good way) as soon as the rain comes down.

Yes, but people need validation on their purchase. I watch a live show with a Q&A section which's full of I've just bought x product, is it any good type questions.

I was in the shop and the jacket fitted nice, which for me seems rare.

It was only on the off chance when I was returning some boots (felt a bit too tight) that I noticed the A* and found that they too fit well

It's a 30 mile round trip so was just asking general opinion before I set off. Seems to be the case the A* set is likely to see me better off.

Thanks for everyone's opinions though

I've got the Richa Bonneville jacket, it's ok. Does what it's meant to, keeps me reasonably dry in anything up to medium rain. Quality/stitching seem good. That's about it really.

I've got Richa WSS gloves.

They're pretty good. There's plenty of feel through the levers with them as they aren't very thick yet I don't feel like I'm going to mash my hands up if I come off.

I've got a Richa jacket, trousers and boots. All are waterproof and warm. I'd happily recommend them and would definitely buy again. Thumbs Up

I have Richa Phantom jacket. The cheaper model to yours.

It seems quite well made, but the waterproofing only works up to 50mph

And the bin bag interiour makes it unbearable during the summer, which is when I most wanted to use it.

It was £130

I bought a Spada jacket for £105 which seems nearly as well made and VASTLY more comfortable in spring/summer, due to inside of jacket being mesh based and jacket having zip vents.

The Richa Brooklyn gloves I have are supposedly summer gloves. But are WAY too hot and sweaty for summer.
They are nice gloves though. But a bit weird wearing summer gloves in autumn and spring only due to heat, but are physically too short for rain showers that appear in the seasons which I can actually wear them.

I've a richa textile jacket that's been good for a few years. Had an off a while ago which put a hole in the arm.
Mine comes in 3 parts. Mesh jacket, wind and waterproof inner jacket, then the warm part.

The biggest problem with the jacket is when you've been in a heavy down poor, you really want the jacket to dry after you've taken it off before you put it back on, as the outer part seems to like holding water. It's never leaked. The second problem, on a hot day the mesh part is great, but if you know your going to travel later when it's gotten cold or going to rain, then it's a pain to find somewhere to put the waterproof part if you don't have storage.

I've got one of those too. Decent jacket for the 25 quid I paid for it.

Appreciate all the replies, decided to exchange the jacket for an Alpinestars Andes V2, will cost slightly move overall once I factor in slightly more expensive jeans.

But hopefully it will pay off in the long run.

Cheers

I got a Richa textile jacket as it matched the colours of my 125, and it's comfy, looks decent and was cheap enough.

I don't really care about waterproofing, or crash ratings etc.

The other reason for getting it, was that my 15year old Dainese red textile jacket must have shrunk against my ever athletic frame, and it's now like wearing a boob tube with shoulder and elbow pads. Laughing

Got a Richa 2 piece set of leathers.

Got them at a BSB meet for like £250 8 years ago.

Survived an 80+ mph on track crash with minimal scuffing.

Excellent bit of kit, best buy I've made really. Still use the gear now.

The one thing I will say is it's real good thick leather; a lot of gear I see is pretty thin and a bit crappy so I can't say all gear is as good but this set's been fantastic for the money I paid Smile
